Has anyone been watching this seriies? I forgot it was on last week, so watched the first episode tonight, before episode 2 was on tonight, and was very impressed by Gareth Melone yet again - I've watched his previous Choir series before, but I think that this is one of his best. i think that it's true, peoople don't necessarily think about the wife/husband left behind with the children etc, and I think that all the women involved were incredibly gutsy - not only forming the choirs, but doing it and being recorded by the BBC into the bargain! Hats off to them! - and I am really looking forward to next week's episode - with a box of tissues beside me.

I loved the first episode, but I haven't put the TV on this evening, I forgot all about it tonight. I guess I can catch up with it next week if its repeated before the next episode.

I saw the end result on Friday when they sang at the Royal Albert Hall - they were the stars of the show! Second only tot he poppy drop at the end.
^^ to the poppy drop...

It wasn't repeated, maidup, I watched it on IPlayer.
Awww of course, I'd have forgotten about iplayer! Thanks islasmum
It is a great series, mainly because of who the BBC/Gareth have chosen to involve this time. However, they need to find new formats in future. Every Gareth Malone series so far has involved getting a choir together from scratch and preparing it to perform at a major event. It's become a bit like those James Bond movie formats where every film ends with 007 trying to stop a clock ticking before the World is blown to bits. New ideas required.
The girl singing the solo has a realy lovely voice, I just wish I could get past all her tattoos, they take my mind off the singing
Monday's programme (2nd of 3) IS repeated tonight at 11.20 BBC2.
Great series.
I have loved Gareth Malone's previous series but haven't watched this one as I thought it would be just more of the same. BUT after what you have all said I shall catch up on it and watch the rest. X
I agree that its all more of the same, but its good more.

Unlike Strictly, Grand Designs, Secret Millionaire, etc all of which are endless and have gone on in their formulaic way for far too long.

barb7771 I agree about the tattoos, but what a lovely voice she had! And I wish that Gareth would get a jacket that fits! His tweed looking one looks as if he had it as a 12 year old! Wonder how old he actually is? I think that he's like Brian Cox, and much older than he looks.
36 married and one daughter
Gareth Malone, born Bournemouth 1975.

That makes him 36 - older or younger than you thought Islasmum?
I think he's brilliant - he does so much to raise people's morales. I love all his series so far - he's inspirational without being patronising.
