I've only ever watched one episode of Eastenders and that was the first one. As you can gather, I wasn't too impressed.

Now, whenever I see a trail on the BBC for the programme everybody seems to be shouting at each other. Do they ever speak normally?

Everyone seems to have/having kids by Dads who are not their regular partner.
It's all rows and shouting. I watched it longer than you but gave up when Dirty Den died the first time. However I have seen bits whan channel hopping and every time someone has been shouting and arguing with someone else.
but you all love to talk about it :o)
This is me not talking about it - despite what the bbc says
I saw an advert for Eastenders at 5.15pm last night just before Pointless.

The advert was full of people crying, and screaming at each other, and threatening each other.

It was far too "real" to be shown at 5.15pm when many children may be watching (even I found it a bit upsetting).

What an awful program.
i think the cockney folk in general cannot conduct conversation without shouting and using phrases such as 'you slaaaag', 'you maaapit' all the time. I have never been to East London btw.
mungbeanz, treat yourself to a trip to the East End of London.. I think you'll be surprised!
Sara3. Which part would you recommend? Would I have to take part in a knees up?
anywhere, do wear your pearly king/queen outfit.. that's what they all wear, y'know!
...and they eat nuffin' but jellied eels..........
What an intruiging place...I shall organise a trip there. Although have absolutely no idea what a pearly queen is.
It has always puzzled me why people watch this sh1te. All the soaps are unrealistic hogwash, trying to out do each other for extremity. They should be on the horror channel after 11 if you ask me.
LOL @ Mung beanz - those phrases will be going round my head all day now & I'm from the North!!

I've watched it since it started more or less, gone off it a few times, but always get drawn back, as I do with all the soaps. Yet, all I seem to do is whinge about EE, there's so many people & plots that I think are just ridic - but I think it's a bit like family - after so long I just tolerate them all!!
