But bad editing can cause this sort of problem. And the shows are recorded two or three at a time. I personally don't think it is fixed.
Maybe someone just pressed the remove button by mistake, don't understand why it wasn't edited out though.
So if it's not a fix and it's not a post-production error, what's your theory then, Lambert-Butler?
I'm not sure why you don't think of it as an error.

Someone must have to press something to make the figures disappear. This time someone pressed something they shouldn't have pressed. It's simple really.
I've tried watching this programme but it is so slow and strung out I gave up.
I can not watch the video from work but I believe the point being made is that if it is one of the amounts on the TV screen that has disappeared, well those are not part of the set but are superimposed after the programme for the enjoyment of the TV viewer. At that stage the whole game is known: which number was first, which next, which last. So incompetence in the editing room can easily make things appear to happen before they ought to be able to.

Of course this explanation fails if the video shows the board at the back of the 'stage' missing the amount, rather than the "overlay" seen on the TV screen.

We may never know.
Anyway I still don't believe they put a man on the moon in 1969 lol.
LB Possilbly the editor would have wanted a shot of the board and someone put in a clip from a bit later in the show after she had picked the 50000 box
LB Sorry a bit out of sinc I didnt look at the second page of comments
When we went to a recording of DOND they record it just as you watch it including breaks for the commercials except the beginning where the choses player goes off to be wired up and collect their photos, lucky charms whatever but when the game has finished we all had to sit there and wait for the director to give clearance but each game we saw some box opening had to be redone. They replace boxes accordingly but I can see that there could be an error in not getting the board right...seeing it done live I really cant see how they can fix it
The graphics viewers see are added when the show goes into post production. Having done quite a bit of editing over the years, I can see how this error happened.

With so many DOND being made and the tight schedules they work to, I am sure it won't be the last time something like this happens.
