Breast is best

Watching this on tv and there's a woman still breast feeding the child that is 8. Do you agree with this or should there be a cut off age x

i personally probably wouldn't do it myself but i'd like to see how you would police a cut off age!

I don't mean a lawful cut off age. But from people's experience what would be a personal cut off age. I've not got children so can't really comment x

How awful. I know in the past this went on but I think it is definitely too old to keep a child feeding from you. My own mother fed my brother until he was two and I know there was someone who went to the same school as my sister who was still being fed at five but I think it is ridiculous to go on as long as this. Just an opinion of course.

If I'm being honest, I think there's something a bit 'wrong' about breast feeding a child of that age.

My ex SIL breast fed one of her children til he was well past 2 years, while my lil pasta weaned herself at 14 months. I think 2 is about the limit-and later just seems weird and unnecessary.

When I worked in Albania, most of the mothers breast fed til about 4 years of age. This seemed to be the norm and bottle fed babies were frowned on. Cultural thing?

I can see 4 as being ok in a poor country where there is threat of famine,or very little fresh food.

Haha I had those visions too lol. It does seem strange. Apparently 4 is the average in Europe too, maybe it is a cultural thing as Britain has kind of drifted away from breast feeding x
