Could we do without the daily 'guests' on The One Show with everyone brown nosing them and cackling and could we just have the little snippets of information about nature and food and history etc?

could we just not have the One Show at all?
its an excuse for the celeb to plug their film, book, etc, i can't bear whiny matt baker on a good day, let alone a bad one.
I would miss Alex if we had no One Show lol
And Giles Brandeth.
I wouldn't miss Alex, she's a faint imitation of Chrissie Bleakley.
no such thing boxtops....shes gorgeous and only hint of imitation was started by some silly woman in a silly celebrity mag
Each to their own, then, mickrog! I find the show's irritating these days.
mind you i like matt too but prefer him on Countryfile, which to me is the best on TV at the moment.....i even bought the calendern lol
I don't watch this programme because I think it's quite rude to have a guest on, talk to them for about 2 mins then start reporting on some story that has nothing to do with the guest. Smurfchops I agree with you.
I only liked the One Show when Adrian Chiles was on it. He made it popular. It has become weak and mundane since he left.
Sorry LL can't stand the man.

Must admit I like Giles Brandreth even though his teeth whistle. Alex cackles too much, just like the Bleakley. I can't stand the intro music either. And who are the audience - BBC Staff prised from their desks to clap and guffaw at unfunny z listers ? I could go on .. and on ...
Regardless of whether we like him or not Miss Prim, He got The One Show very high in the ratings in a very short time, and the ratings plummeted when he left.

He made it into something different from the mundane and it caught the attention of people - it was vibrant and unusual and on at the right time of day.
ITV soon snapped Chiles up for Daybreak, but it didn't work. He is not ITV material or Daybreak material. (I can't stand Daybreak or ITV breakfast television) The BBC were daft letting him go.
Agree with LL, I can't stand Chiles either but he made that show and it's not been the same since. Don't bother with it anymore
i wouldnt mind finding out if Alex cackles in her sleep lol
I didn't know that LL as like I said, I've never watched a full programme but AC always comes across to me as being a bit of a miserable beggar.I thought he and CB got the old heave ho because the ratings were down and the same when they went to Daybreak.Just personal preferences really.
Missp, Chiles and Bleakley asked for too much money, from what i understand, to stay at The One Show. They were promptly snaffled up for Daybreak, then it all crashed because they were both useless on it, and the pay can't compensate for falling ratings, so out they went from that too.
Chiles quit the BBC after they decided to put Chris Evans on instead of him on a Friday night. Can't say I blame him! I can't stand Chris Evans.

As you say personal preferences. Yes Chiles is a miserable old bugger, but quite droll and I like him better than the smiley mundane boring presenters who seem to come out of the same mould!!
em I'm following you around asking how you got on at the doc's today?
