Back to theme music.  Whats your favourite TV theme tune one that brings back memories.  I am 45 and the Dr Who theme from the Jon Pertwee era, the Robinson Crusio from the 1960s and Crown court from the mid early 70s.

Good question!  I also liked Crown Court, though I preferred the end titles theme tune.  Other favourites of a bygone era are:

The Persuaders, Van Der Valk and A Family At War.

..jamie and the magic torch...

,,,danger mouse...

hong kong phooey.. (sheesh I watched a lot of cartoons as a kid)...

ooh and White Horses theme song was also very  good..theres probably loads more that will spring to mind after I've hit the "submit "button...

I loved the themes to Bonanza and The High Chaparal.

Black Beauty & the Banana Splits

Thunder, Thunder, Thunder, Thundercats! Hoooooo!
The Prisoner, Six feet under (don't like the show), Raggidolls and Captain Planet.

Z-Cars

Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons ("This is the voice of the Mysterons - we know you can hear us Earthmen ...")

In addition to some of those mentioned above:

Beverley Hill Billies
Gilligans Island
The Oneidin Line
When The Boat Comes In
Joe 90

Follyfoot and Magpie.
Julesy
The Magic Roundabout.
The theme to Alias Smith and Jones always makes me feel like a young teenager again being madly in love with Pete Duel!

spudqueen,

I forgot The Onedin Line!  All time classic, thanks for reminding me.

Robins Crusoe, The Onedin Line - brilliant. And - although I would never have admitted it at the time - Black Beauty. I don't quite know why but I also enjoyed the intro music to the cricket test matches. And of course Top of the Pops.
The BBC music for Formula One (i.e section of the Chain by Fleetwood Mac), Six Feet Under and Rockcliffe's Babies.
I'm 34 and the one that brings back the most memories is the theme to The Professionals. (wakka-chooka wakka-chooka, wakka-chooka wakka-chooka, din nin din....)
