Anyone watch this? Got to be the best show for a long time.

Laughing one minute to wanting to cry the next. And it's all completely true.

Such a great insight into what the police and the criminals really think.

Yes it was good I must admit, gives you and insight into the deeper aspect of police and what they do I think, rather than the cops in patrol cars and drug busting et al.
I am watching it now and worrying about my brother who gave up physiotherapy to become a copper. He's now in the CID waiting for a promotion post (he's done his exams). I worry about the psychological affects as he is so kind hearted (I will be really pleased if my boys grow up like him).

He must be a special kind of person Sher. Having to deal with the kind of person shown later in the programme and not strangle them or completely lose it yourself. I don't know how they do it, but glad they do.
Hi Evian, it was a big decision for him to leave the NHS but he seems to enjoy it (he's 11 years younger than me so I do worry about him). Think he finds the stuff involving children the most difficult (but as I said, wish he lived nearer as he would be a brilliant role model for my boys). He seems to thoroughly enjoy the challenge of it all though.

I can understand why you'd want your kids to be closer to him, I'd be very proud if he was my brother. We'd be a little stuffed without these people dealing with all that sort of stuff most of us couldn't bare to think about.
It was a great change from the usual cop programmes.

I liked the the quote from the CID guy who said they should be locked up in a 20ft high cell and let them get on with it!

That burglar waster said he would prefer jail than a police cell as he would get 3 meals a day and a TV!

Pity we don't follow the Asian way when its 20 to a cell with only minimal food and no perks, they would soon learn their lesson!

birdie, how long were you in the police force ?
Best cop show I've seen for a long time - it got down to the nitty gritty of police work.

I used to work for a criminal solicitors in Manchester and 90% of the clients were like the burglar scumbag on the programme. No remorse and same old faces going to court week in, week out. I really feel for the police - these criminals deserve everything they get, but not a cushy prison. They have better facilities in prison than they do at home, that's why they're not bothered if they get a prison sentence. The justice system should toughen up.
At least they don't block out the faces of the villains like a lot of police programmes on Pick TV. Very good last night.
