Anyone else having problems with the new Virgin TiVo box?

I'm really just curious....

We got our first TiVo box installed on the 10th December and it went a bit tits-up on the 1st or 2nd January (i.e. less than a month old), although we could still watch the TV but a lot of features couldn't be used, including the shows we'd recorded, the On Demand stuff and the red button features for channels. It was difficult to even contemplate what to do with it as the instruction leaflets they give out focus pretty much solely on how to operate the remote control. Anyways, an engineer came out yesterday, and agreed that it was a fault with the box. He gave us a brand new box, which he unwrapped from the cellophane, and left.

4 hours after he left, the new box malfunctioned with a completely different problem and it now can't be used at all as it just doesn't work. The engineer can't come back now till friday.

Seems hard to believe that 2 of these 'state of the art' machines can break down within a month. However, I know that this is a very new product. I was just wondering if it genuinely is bad luck or if others have the TiVo box and are experiencing problems like this?

Lucky you, Fitzer!

I'm just bumping this to give an update.

Less than 16 hours after fitting my THIRD box in just over a month, the third box has now broken - with the same fault as the first one.

Surely this can't just be bad luck?

Is anyone else having problems with the TiVo box?

In any case, I think Virgin have had enough chances. They're apologising, but not offering any reimbursement and yet again, I have no service. I'm cancelling the Direct Debit and moving to Sky because this can't carry on. I can't take any more time off work.
