desperate housewives new series

i've always enjoyed this programme and was looking forward to this series. last night though, i found myself bored half way through and thought 'blimey, here we go again'. Don't you think the storylines have all been done time and time again?
You can't beat the series that began five years after the end of the previous one - with Gabby fat, broke and with two kids!
