I'd like to see a programme about how to re-act if you or your kids are attacked by a Dog.

explain Ankou....
sorry ankou, love you dearly, but I'll have to disagree with you on this one.Your child's fears are not my responsibility, as I said i'd shorten my dogs lead so she's at my heel, but that's the only concession i'd make. as I further said, if your child is that bad, i'd expect you to take evasive action, not me.
i wasn't testing, personally i think it would be both adults responsibility to give each other a wide 'controllling' berth.

I agree Ankou, but that was not what you said. By keeping my dog on a tight leash and away from the child that would be a wide controlling berth.

I talk as a parent and as a dog owner, and how does a typical dog owner react!! I am a responsible dog owner and I was a responsible parent too.
there was no point where i didn't say i would b00
But you'd expect me to, for example, cross over the street, with my dog?
Snap woofgang! I would like an explanation too.

I could say Ankou that your reaction is that of a typical over protective parent....................... but I didn't ;o)
And I love you dearly too Ankou :o)
i'm not sure you can be too over protective of a 2 year old where dogs are concerned. can you ?
Yes
Because you wouldn't let her approach them and would make sure you kept her at a reasonable distance.....................................
..
I had the opposite problem. My two year old, if unrestrained would happily go and cuddle any dog, whatever size, that he came across. He had to be taught otherwise, but it was difficult.

I keep our pooch away from the visiting baby. However, a couple of weeks ago visiting dad put baby on pooches back. VB loved it and pooch just licked him all over.
I wasn't too happy as our pooch has never been around such young children.
I would wrestle the dog to the ground, knee/crush it firmly down & insert hand (thumb facing out) to vice-grip lower jaw. Knees on chest & neck would soon quiten or kill the dog. If you keep this info in mind most dogs would sense your plan & avoid you.

None of my dogs are taken to public sites.
I seriously doubt you'd be able to do any of that Tamborine, especially faced with a dog which packs a powerful punch.
Tamborine, what dogs do you have?
A chihuahua :P
BOO^^^^^^^^^^thought so.

;o))
1 chihuahua & 3 GSDs
sorry mental imagines of tambo and a chihauha pmsl

but i think its the dog owners resp to keep their dog under control and to be mindful that not all the other walkers are dof friendly but i think at the same time humans should be keeping their kids under control and teaching them how to deal with dogs safely.

feel sorry for your daughter ankou that must be horrible to see. did she get attacked or is it unknown? its such a shame my dog was my best friend growing up :-)
