Just finished the film karen - had half an idea what went on and obviously knew it was really awfulbut watching them just go round corners and shoot people who were running away and take lives like that is just beyone comprehension
To then be decorated from the queen is just shocking!
Many young men are dead in the ground and the "murderers" free to live their life. Wifes mums left alone , people fatherless! Uurgh its just shocking. Planting things on dead bodies and no one brought to justice.

Sorry, going to disagree with you all on this one.
Saville was a one sided inquiry which had no other intention of scapegoating the soldiers of 1Para to ensure the continued peace in Northern Ireland. Evidence was selective as were witnesses, the inquiry glossed over many of the fundamental issues that were key to what happenned in 1972.
One simple question, if trouble wasn't expected why were 1 Para sent into Bogside that day and why were they ordered in with LIVE ammunition. It's easy to blame the Colonel in charge for disobeying orders but the reality is the Intelligence Services knew there was a potential flashpoint in Bogside that Sunday, it's pretty widely acknowledged that a young Martin McGuiness was there with a sub machine gun. I am sceptical of any inquiry that's closed and done on the sponsorship of a particular government, especially a snivelling rat like Blair!!
Our armed services did what they had to do to prevent the loss of a greater number of lives throughout the troubles, over 3600 people died at the hands of the paramilitaries on both side of the religious divide. Until it happens close to you, you don't understand just how important a job our servicemen do.

This scenario happened many many times and while our armed forces go through the grist mill for politcal ends, these terrorists were given pardons for a peace process.
