Can anyone tell me the title of the orchestral background music played at the climax of the final episode. Others have asked about the title music and I suppose this may be another suite from the same composer.

It took me ages to find out the track I think you're talking about!

It's the ominous music that started before the contestants enter the board room... it's called "Furious Angels" by Rob Dougan, which is originally from one of the Matrix movies.... hope this helps!!

Thanks for the suggestion but no, that's not it.
The piece I'm looking for is more light classical.

Hmm... I recorded the episode, so I'll check it out later!
The music is from Romeo & Juliet.  The composer Prokofiev

The opening sequence is indeed from the Romeo and Juliet suite (Dance of the Knights) but the music I am trying to identify is a waltz that plays all through the evening events on the boats.
Hello ! I'm not sure if this is the one you're looking for, but when I watched it I (most) definitely recognized Yann Thiersen , a modern french composer ( of Amelie's fame, as he composed most of the movie's sountrack ). Hope this helps ! you can have a look at this site for tracks ( french site ) : http://www.labels.tm.fr/fr/artiste.asp?artiste=TI023

Thanks but I have now identified the piece. It is Waltz No. 2 by Johann Strauss. It's one of those haunting themes that seems to be quite difficult to trace. It was also used in the film "Eyes Wide Shut", played by the Concertgebouw orchestra of Amsterdam. That is the most charismatic performance I have heard so far and could be the same one that was used in "The Apprentice".
Question Author
Indeed, I just received confirmation from the producer of "The Apprentice" that the above is the version they used.

Correction to the above - the composer is not Strauss but Shostakovich and the title is Jazz Suite 2 Waltz No.2. The other details are correct.
