A new series started last night. As usual with half the gipsy male faces blurred out, I wonder why? Again no explanation of how they 'earn a living' enabling them to own big Range Rovers and Mercedes cars, benefit fraud and thieving spring to mind.

I find the contradictions really hard to understand - as you say, the girls go out with no clothes on, but they have a really strict moral code, no sex (for the girls) before marriage, strict rules on boyfriends - yet they go out dressed like "come and get me".

I realy don't understand it boxtops. If my daughter had gone out looking like that, she'd have been grounded indefinitely! The lads all think they're God's gift, as shown by that kid last night in the hairdressers.

When we were young gipysies used to come round the doors selling needles and thread and lucky charms .So they were lucky for some .

They don't use the NHS much though, flipflop - the travelling population can be hard to reach, for healthcare. They have their own health and social care staff in the NHS and county councils.

the young girl in spain who was driving a Porche and who's caravan was surrounded by mercedez and range rovers and other cars said her father was touring doing business!!!! and her soon to be husband was a knocker ( a door to door salesman) what do you need to be selling door to door to be able to afford a fleet of cars equivalent to that of a premiership football player?

I made a bet with myself last night there would be a thread like this this morning.
The thing is rearding the way they dress, you don't HAVE to understand it, just like they don't understand you having a cooker in your kitchen etc, it's an entirely different culture.

Cookers are usually in the utiliy building Boo, it's usually considered dirty to cook where you live, and certainly there are no cookers in proper gypsy towing trailers.

We watched this too and all I could think was where oh where does all the money come from? Like you say you would have to sell thousands of tarmac drives to even cover the cost of the cakes!!!

we had a load round our way doing soffits and facsias. As mine desperately needed doing I took a risk, being savvy enough not to give cash up front.

They did a good job for a good price - yes I expect if they get the tiniest sniff of 'gullible' they'll pounce on it, usually vulnerable people like the elderly which is where they ge their bad name. I suppose no different to used car salesmen or estate agents in their underhand tactics.

flashing the flesh is not a crime and it is certainly not frowned upon in traveller communities. but these girls have high morals, they may flash it to any man but they certainly won't 'give it' until they are maried and only then to one man, unlike many girls of similar age in present society.

i think calling them 'scum' is cheap anonymous and cowardly bigotry. grow a pair and tell it to their faces.

as said, no doubt they get a hefty wedge from channel 4 to act up to the stereotype for trash televiewing. and yet here you are dave50, soaking it all up and no doubt drooling withenvy at their cars and women.

No, but I can pretty much guarantee that my neighbour lawfully earns his money and pays tax on his salary.

I can also pretty much guarantee that gypsies do not lawfully earn their money for the very simple reason they do not pay tax on the money they earn (not to mention the metal thefts, most of which are performed by the 'travelling community').

THAT is naievete beyond words flip flop. Since when did living next door to you in a house guarantee anyone's honesty?
Really it's laughable to opinions people genuinely hold.
People who run a business but split it into 4 businesses so they don't reach the VAT threshold would be held up as ' savvy businessmen' by the very same people who whine about gypsies not paying tax when they doubtless don't even personally know any but probably know hundreds of dishonest settled folk.
