it is - but presumably this is yet another social issue they are trying to portray
yep, if it is weird or perverted it's in there (not as bad as Corrie which I just will not watch). Next thing will be one of them showing some inane terrorist having a shoot out.....

appalling story that is in France, poor buggers...
yes, sadly, this does happen, folk have lots of pressure in thier lives, and their elderly reatives just make the pressures worse!........very sad, the elderly relative feel like a burden, and so go into a Care Home, and stagnate!......very sad!......I think that years ago we cared for our elderly parents and tried to understand their problems, sadly these days, we are all too busy!............Very sad state of affairs!.....
I think there is more to this storyline than just the elderlry relative needing care aspect. I think it is going to lead to Ashley either having a mental/emotional breakdown, or a murder or two. The timing could be right to lead up to a powerful Christmas drama.
Remember, Ashley's family are quite unstable, Sandy's granddaughter ran off and it ended up with seiges and guns didn't it? So there's already a history of extreme emotional distress in the family..............yes I know it's not real.
wow - we have one of the script writers as an ABer ^
To me it's coming over as bullying from Ashley. I agree with the OP - it's horrible to watch.
He's not very compassionate is he? Especially for a Vicar, he wouldn't treat one of his elderly parishoners like that would he?
^^^That's what I thought too. Can't see a vicar behaving like that. (I know he's not really a vicar).
I once knew an evil vicar...............but that's another story (and he's not a vicar anymore)
I agree with you it is awful to watch, really feel for sandy. That is because I have been in this situation.
It does seem out of character for Ashley though. He may be a randy old goat but he seems to care for his flock. :o)
Sorry to hear that, Freda. Hope you've come through it a stronger person. Bullies are the pits.
Mrs C do not bring sheep in to this. We have enough of that with moonraker. lol
LOL @ Mic.
I didn't like Sandy's character to begin with. But I agree with you tezmand it
does make uncomforable viewing. Quite out of character for Ashley though to
be so spiteful.I think he may have some issues because Sandy wasn't always there for him when he was younger.
Tezmand, I am just watching it now and I think the way Ashley is treating Sandy is so horrible. Taking his keys and giving him a curfew is absolutely disgraceful and i just feel like smacking Ashley one! Such uncomfortable viewing.
this is going to get worse according to a review i read a few weeks back, it's a horrible storyline, but one that has quite a lot of truth around it.
obviously probably a common issue dealing with caring

Vicars and the religious fraternity are not exempt from this - look at the abuse in the Catholic Church and some of the CofE......

Now where is my soldering iron? - I need to get the bottom of this.
supers it does make you feel very uncomfortable, and perhaps it should do...
