film "Georgia's friends"

Many years ago in Italy I saw an American film; the Italian title was Georgia's Friends after one of the characters, but the English title was different and I can't remember it. It was a very long film tracing the lives of four friends who meet at University, then go about their own lives (Viet Nam war, student riots, drugs etc etc) and finally they meet again, more mature and at peace. It contained a shocking scene of a wedding in which the father of the bride goes mad at shoots lots of people down including his own daughter (yes I was inspired to ask this question by another question on this site, but the wedding bloodbath in this film was not at the beginning). Has anybody got any idea what film it might be?
