This probably won't be popular, but I can't watch or listen to him anymore. He's so doddery he looks a bit bonkers now. You?

Well, I think you could have phrased it a little kinder, but I have to agree that Dave's career should have ended a few years ago. He's obviously still has his passion but there's a time to quit, and the time has passed.
Trouble is who is there to replace him? All his programmes have been so good.
He is over 90 you know.
Makes me wonder why he is still doing it, he's not hard up he's a millionair.
Yes David step down & give a younger person an opertunity.

Unfortunately, I think you are correct.
Matt Baker?
No, not Matt Baker. DA is a National Treasure.
Well he does look a bit like they dug him up. JOKE!
His voice was his trademark
I disagree. I think he's fantastic and deserves more respect than to be slated on a Q&A site.
I would have respected him more if he'd left at the height of his career.
He's 85.

And i like watching him. He has such passion and enthusiasm and as well as incredible knowledge and experience.

He's a legend!
No No No

He is brilliant, and I love listening to him.
I think he's doing extraordinarily well for his age. We should all have his enthusiasm and drive.

Of course there will be those who think he should be put on an iceberg and allowed to drift off-as he's 'past it'.
I met him when I was 20 something and he was 40 something. I worked at the BBC and he came to my office as he was going back to programme making. He was so nice to me and said thank you for letting me come here etc which he had no need to do, being a million times more important than me. A true gentleman and so knowledgable. Of course I want him to go on forever!
Love listening to and watching him but then I`m a sucker for a man who has a passion. Went to a talk by Chris Packham recently...... brilliant!
Nummy is right; he's not "over 90", he's 85 (86 this coming May 8th).

It's a fact of life that as one gets older one's voice, gait and demeanour sometimes undergo some changes. One thing that sometimes undergoes changes as well, to a greater or lesser degree, is one’s mind. Sir David Attenborough’s mind most certainly has not suffered any untoward changes. He is still as informative and entertaining as he was 30 years ago. I’ve just watched “Darwin’s Tree of Life” and it was well put together, very interesting and superbly presented.

Quite who Jemisa has in mind who might have similar talent, skills and knowledge as Sir David and who is currently being denied their “opertunity”, it is hard to imagine.
OK I stand corrected about his age but 85 - 86 - 90 what does it matter. There are several youngsters that can step in his shoes. DA is as good as he is and as knolegable as he is because of years & years of experience and he truly is (or was) fantastic & I wouldn't take that away from him, but like us all there comes a time when one has to hang up one's boots (so to speak)
If you ever watch the 'One Show' they constantly have up and coming DA's on that show.
No one is infallable...

He can go on as long as his programmes are popular.
Awwwww, no!

I adore David Attenborough, and as far as I'm concerned despite his age he still knocks spots off presenters more than half his age.

Long may he reign!
He looks and sounds like an old man - which is what he is.

As long as his mind is sound, and he enjoys making programmes, and the majority like watching them, I see no problem.
