Looks as if it will cost a lot more to have a separately elected one and we pay them far too much as it is. It used to be a voluntary position - now it is a well paid job. Having seen the way London mayors have acted I have decided to vote against a separately elected one. After all, as the old saying goes, "If it aint broke, why mend it?" and it seems to work perfectly adequately as it is.
i don`t know why we need a Mayor anyway. We did alright without them before. I don`t know why they should to be affiliated to a political party either. I`ve already voted but they were a pretty uninspiring lot really. There was only one that isn`t against the third runway at LHR so I was very limited in choice.
