national treasure

in the film 'National Treasure' starring Nicholas Cage, they are seen going into Trinity Church. what intrigues me is the logo for this church is the symbol the Triquetra. now i could be mistaken, but i believe that the triquetra is a pagan symbol, so why would a church have a pagan symbol as they are opposites, 'enemies' if you will. (it all looks too familiar to those who have read the da vinci code) does anyone have any views as to why this is? x
