I've seen a couple of episodes of this, but I can't work out who Emma Swan (I think that's her name) is supposed to be in relation to the fairy tale characters. Does anyone know?

It says here she's the daughter of snow white and the prince..

She is Snow White and Prince Charming's baby, hidden in a magic wardrobe at birth to stop the evil queen from taking her. That's why she was found abandoned at the side of the road and adopted by a friendly couple, who we've never seen. I'm mainly watching it because I'm a fan of Robert Carlyle as Rumplestiltskin, he's the best thing in it, too!
Are you enjoying it Naomi? The jury's still out for me.

Ahhh! Thanks. I saw the one where the baby was put in the wardrobe and disappeared. I didn't realise the mother was Snow White though.

I think Robert Carlyle is brilliant as Rumplestiltskin.

Hi rocky, I haven't seen every episode - and obviously it's nonsense - but sometimes nonsense is easy watching, and I've enjoyed what I've seen.
Prince Charming cheating on Cinderella? Oh Noooooooooo! Devastation.
Question Author
Daisy, I've ordered The Wide Sargasso Sea. I'll let you know if I can make any sense of it.
i have been watching it, but i seem to have missed last sundays episode.
Daughter of snow white and Prince Charming. I really like it, but what i don't like is it's 22 episodes, for me that's too long to wait. and am sure there will be another series. I love Robert Carlyle, he so good in this.
it's quirky and off beat, and beats many British shows on offer at the minute
Naomi. Never did appreciate Jane Eyre.
Now that was a cracking programme, look out for the lovely Toby Stephens, son of Maggie. He is luvverly as Rochester.
Question Author
Daisy, perhaps that's why you couldn't make sense of the other book and said you'd appreciate my thoughts on it. If you're still interested, I'll get back to you when I've read it. Jane Eyre is just about top of my list of all time favourites.
I didn't think I would enjoy Once Upon a Time but it has grown on me. It's different and it has Robert Carlisle - that's enough to keep me watching (also the Prince is cute!) Loved the Toby Stephens Jane Eyre - is it being repeated do you know?
quizzy, what were you doing on here at 5am, can't you sleep, i feel tired just thinking about it. As to the luvverly Toby Stephens, well hands off..
I bought the DVD a while back, and watch it at my leisure. It is an excellent adaptation, and well worth buying the DVD. I also think that Ruth Wilson as Jane gives a brilliant performance, Her speech to Rochester about being poor and plain, one of Naomi's favourites, is a corker, and will have you weeping..
it wasn't on last Sunday because it was a bank holiday so you haven't missed any episodes
Love this series, stay with it Naomi, you won't regret it :-)
nungate,
it was on at 18:00hrs on Sun 6th May, my OH was watching it.
AwWWWWW Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Have to find demand five now.
Thanks Baldric

B00, I’m quite enjoying it – but my one question has now led to more.
So, if Emma Swan is Snow White’s daughter, and the little boy is Emma’s son, why was he adopted, who is his father – and is the little boy also a fairy tale character?

Confused? Who me? Not that you’d guess! :o/

Em, that whole conversation between Rochester and Jane Eyre is, in my opinion, the most passionate in all of literature.
We don't know who the father is. She didn't feel capable to be a mother at the time, so gave him up for adoption. Why he was homed with the hard cold 'mother' alias the evil queen, I will never know.
