Charity shops do not want them. There appears to be no market on ebay. They cannot be put out for recycling. Seems wasteful to send them for landfill. Any other ideas?

Depends what they are, but I've sold some of mine on eBay - lots of us still have a VHS machine.
My daughter bought a load of childrens videos from a charity shop for £3 - children of 3 yrs don't know the difference in dvd or videos but the price between a dvd and video is considerable
We have a recycling "machine" outside our Tesco - it definitely accepts them.

Thanks for the replies. Im a keen recyler. My local council are one of the best but they dont take tapes but they do take plastic bottles, food trays, etc, even carrier bags which I believe are turned into road surface material. Seems odd to me thay I have to put them in the black sack for land fill. CDs must be discarded by the million.
