Jubilee Tribute by Prince Charles
29 Answers
Anyone else watch this earlier on BBC1? What did you think? I enjoyed it immensely. I admit to being a monarchist, although never a great fan of Prince Charles. But his tribute was perfect I thought, and to some extent has altered my opinion of him. Some wonderful personal family film footage that obviously meant a lot to him....and I confess brought a tear to my eye....but then I am a big softie :)

Wonderful programme, brought tears to my eyes, but then I love our Queen anyway and wish her well for her Diamond Jubilee. Seeing Charles so emotional was an eye- opener.
I also agree with one of the posts on here, Anne is not ageing as well as her Mum !

Yes, I watched it and enjoyed it very much. It had warmth and genuine love and admiration. The home movies were very good to see and Charles' laughter at his younger self was very infectious. A fitting tribute because it largely showed the Queen relaxed and enjoying her family-something I think we had all forgotten. It makes you think what she had to put to one side when she became Queen at such a young age.
We thought the Charles tribute was superb showing a side of him he unfortunately keeps hidden. I'm sure that at more than one point his eyes were very glittery, almost moist. The shot of the Queen on the plane coming back from Kenya was so poignant.
The ITV Titchmarsh programme was awful, so badly edited with the same thing being repeated. Am I alone in thinking that making public the letters between the Queen and her parents about her marriage should be kept until after they're all dead, seemed a bit tasteless.

Never really liked Prince Charles but quite warmed to him while watching this programme - proves he does have a sense of humour after all............ loved his reaction to seeing all the films of childhood and how he kept laughing at them - do you really think it was the first time he'd seen them? (as he said)
