Why on all the quiz shows when the host asks them what they are going to spend the money on, 90% of them say a holiday?

Maybe I am just boring but althought I enjoy a nice holiday like everyone else,
I can always think of something better to spend a large sum of money on.

If, for example, I won several thousand on a show I would get my kitchen done or loft conversion or my house decorated top to bottom, so many things before 'a nice holiday'

Its probably just the pracital side of me.

What do you guys think?

It's a polite way of saying "Mind your own business".
Quite so! If it was me, I'd say something like "First I'm going to get my herpes sorted and then I'm going to blow the rest down some plump-breasted bird's knickers."
I'd say I was going to hire a hitman.
Like the old Monty Python sketch where a quiz show contestant was asked his hobbies. He replied, "Cruelty to children, masturbation and golf".

The host said to the co-host "He's done himself no favours there".

Co-hosty says, "No, he hasn't, has he? Golf's not very popular round here".

LOL!

Just makes me go GRRR! As another door falls off my 15 year old kitchen!!
Why is it on virtually every quiz show the contestants have to say how old they are? "Hello, I'm Brian, I'm 54 and I'm a farmer." Who cares how old the contestants are?
My husband and I were boring when we won some money.
We won it in the middle of a caravan holiday in France.
It was not enough to give up work so we continued with the holiday, collected it and paid off most of our mortgage using 90% of the winnings and then kept 10% for a nice holiday the next year.
The mortgage was fully paid 3 years later as we kept paying the same amount and even increased our repayments for the final year.
The last time I got lucky (with money) I had to help out a family member. It may well have been spent on a holiday otherwise.
Mark - telly usually tells you to recite name, age and where you're from/occupation.
He cares Mark.
millie - at least you would be able to enjoy it for years to come but if you spent it on a holiday it would be gone in two weeks, except for memories.
Markrae when contestants say how old they are I usually think 'they look a bit old/young/wellworn/bad paper round etc. for their age'.
I am reminded of an episode of Celebrity Mastermind. When John Humphrys asked the actor Ian Lavender to state his name a fellow contestant shouted, "Don't tell him, Pike!"

Starbuck - Thats exactly my way of thinking, I want my money to be spent on things I can appreciate for years to come.
Once a holiday is over, thats it, money gone, nothing to show for it.

AYG - I always think that! Ooh she looks good/rough for 52 ect.

Also the contestants always have jobs you have never heard or is 'flowered up' so much that you still dont have a cluse what they do.
Santiation Disposal Technician????

Binman.
usually when you win an amount of money on TV though it isn't enough to pay of your mortgage or to see you set for life, so what's the next thing after a car to do with it?
A holiday of a lifetime you wouldn't otherwise be able to afford?
I would actually spend it on a holiday or certainly put it in the bank towards that holiday
lol, I've thought that too millie...I'd say I was going to spend it on gin and toyboys :)
Pay off all the debt!! then a house (if there was anything left).
