Mr Q likes it but I find it really boring and grey. I know why we watched it before - there was nothing else on! Loved the Swedish series with Krister Henriksson though.

I'm not keen on Branaghs portrayal of him .I much prefer the ones with Krister Henriksson ( although they don't really follow the books and are written for television) but the best ones are those with Rolf Lassgård.

agree with that.
i went and did the washing up - thought that was more interesting.
I agree. The Swedish one's are much better!
We watched it, we enjoyed it.
I have never watched Wallander because it is so dreary. I thought I would give it a go last night because Mr LL likes it. The very beginning with those two bodies just did my head in. Horrible. Shan't watch it again. It's depressing!

You're right Lottie - Kenny's Wallander is depressing. I managed a couple of naps during the programme!
KB's versions follow the Mankell books quite closely. Having read several of these I can say that they are quite bleak.
I don't mind the bleakness so much as the overly 'arty' direction although last night's was not too bad for that.

Have to disagree with you on one point shaney - I prefer Krister rather than Rolf as Wallander. I shall watch the last one next week and hope for some improvement on Kenny's part, he's not endearing himself to me. Did his girlfriend and her son walk out on him after the first episode? can't blame her if she did!
