On Corrie this evening Peter was expecting to catch a train to Southampton from Manchester Victoria station. Manchester Victoria serves stations north of Manchester and not Southampton which is south of Manchester. The correct station to be filming in would be Manchester Picadilly but maybe National Rail would not let Granada film at the station. It is very unusual for Corrie to get things wrong. Also a brilliant performance from Peter when he left Simon to catch his train. Carry on Corrie.
It's so important to get these details right. Have you checked the timetable to see if there was a train for Southampton departing at that time. In my experience there weren't any late trains if it is the cross country route ie via Banbury & Oxford.
Mere irrelevant detail. For me, the highlight tonight was to see that Corrie had their comedy scriptwriters back on line. The scene with Roy and Mad Mary playing chess was Corrie comedy at its finest:
Mary: " ...Sir Edward Elgar has managed to touch parts of me where no man else has ever done."
Mary: "... I always say I perform my best when my back is up against the wall..."
Roy: "... quite, Mary, so would you like another ham and chese barm?..."
according to northern rail services you can do that trip
Trains have 1 or 3 changes and take 5 hours, first change at Manchester Picadilly - think Peter said they had a 5 hour train journey ahead of them, didn't he?
Hi ojread- I don't think the train runs from Victoria to Piccadilly though- it's a either a bus or a tram.
Not that it matters, of course. I don't think anyone should resign over the issue.
I too enjoyed the Mary/Roy bits although it didn't seem quite right when she was eyeing up Roy's bum.
Brilliant last night (Chris Gascoyne who plays Peter is one fabulous actor). He deserves an award imo for his performance last night. Little Simon was good too and Leanne. Hope Peter and Carla aren't away for too long.
Sorry, but I don't like the Roy and Mary storyline, wish it would stop !
