No
Yes
It was funny for a bit, then tedious, and finally embarrassing.
yes, that's the one bit I didn't go for. But the truth is Mr Bean is a huge international star; everyone everywhere will recognise him.
No, I dont think they were referencing M&W. It was a small snippet of Mr. Bean, apparently a pretty popular export. I thought it well done and pretty funny, myself.
It made me laugh
The sequence was great. Simon Rattle, Vangelis Theme, Chariots of Fire filmtrack. Atkinson was a total embarrasment and completely unneccessary !
I love Mr Bean!

So simple but very funny!
@ thenry - well, thats your opinion. I would disagree.Nicely done, in my opinion, and not at all embarassing.
Mr Bean is known and loved in most countries - far more than just the UK.

He is as much a symbol as james bond and the sex pistols

He shows something quite rare in other countries - a sense of humour
I find Mr. Bean excruciatingly embarrassing. So I have no sense of humour? Good.
Yes I liked the Mr Bean bit, and he is certainly popular here in Spain but the Spanish have a slapstick sense of humour. They hated Fawlty Towers (Manuel was italian!)
I hadn't found Mr Bean funny until today - loved it.
Utter cr*p ! take yourself seriously once in a while. like when you put on the Olympics show to the rest of the world . What do they know about Mr Bean ?
The French know about Mr bean, he ruined a famous painting there once
Believe us thenry, Mr BEan is one of our buggest exports and an international star. There's no language barrier with his mime style of humour and as a result he's known to people all around the world.
^^^ LOL *biggest*!
I've seen mr Bean on the telly in Germany.
@ thenry - as others here have mentioned, Mr. Bean has been a popular export around the globe. The character is one of those that people will either love or loathe, but the character is iconic ,with the mini and the teddy bear.

I would think that many watching around the globe will get and enjoy the reference.
OK. Rowan was great on Not the Nine O Clock News and vg on The Thin Blue Line BUT when he started on Bean and English he fell slightly into disrepair and became a bit Carry On ! Admittedly Bean was OK for a while but he should not have represented us as a nation. We should turn to Basil Fawlty and Alan Partridge on these occasions ! PS - up to the T's !
