Oh no, firewatch, how sad! How long have you had her?
Question Author
only a couple of months and we where making headway with her training
Duh...are we meant to be mind readers? There are many, many reasons why a dog might bite someone, and in my long experience of dog owning it's hardly ever the dog's fault.

How old is your daughter? How long have you had the dog, i.e. before or after your daughter was born? What were the circumstances of each incident?

Dogs very rarely bite without very good reason, i.e. being taunted/teased/mistreated. Has it ever bitten anyone else etc etc etc???

There's loads here that you haven't mentioned, yet you seem to expect some kind of measured answer or solution without giving details?

Tut, tut.
Sorry to hear that, but you have to put your daughter first.
where's she going?
You expect us (well me) to agree with you with no more explanation than that??? Well said eye .....
i would'nt take chances with my child either, your wee one is very young is she not ?
Is it a puppy? Next door's spangle nibbles anything that comes near it, young dogs do - it's to be expected.
I'm not sure how old your little girl is, but with their high-pitched squeals and erratic movements, young children can appear to the subconscious wolf instincts in dogs as prey animals. If you are in doubt, then don't take chances.
Blimey eyethankyew. As far as I can read firewatch requested no measured answer or solution on CB.

Hardly ever/very rarely is not never is it?
Makes me think that perhaps we have a classic case of very young child not being taught how to respect animals. No broken skin just teeth marks - a warning from the dog. If the dog intended to bite, she would have done more damage. Perhaps it is best that the dog does go - I hope she is found a good home.

My daughter is 2and half, the spaniel came to us from a home with much smaller children.
First time she swung round to bite the toddler wanted to play and lucky didnt, the other times she was playing with sprite our black lab and lucky came and bit her with no provocation.
My husband has owned dogs since he was small and we thought we had over come luckys issues but obviously not

Daughter has respect of animals, and is approrailtey told off for any mis treatment she gives the dogs
Sounds like she needs to be rehomed with older kids.
She's still young, and she'd probably be better off in a home where she is the only dog, and there are no young children. It sounds as if she is trying to get attention.
Maybe it was not good to take on a dog that had 'issues'.
OK, Sorry I was somewhat harsh firewatch. Probably Lucky had had problems with the previous family and the children.
Agree with Pasta completely. A dog with any issues is not a good idea with a 2 year old.
Chap. For a few moments there I thought you meant fire`s daughter. I must be more tired than I thought. You didn`t, did you? :-)
Sorry to hear this firewatch, I hope things work out for you and Lucky. It does sound like she needs re homing were there are no little kids though imo.
