I vaguely remember something about the actual school they used to use was knocked down.
The government sold off the playing fields.

I don't watch it but contributors to Wikipedia obviously do!

Quote:
"At the end of the series, despite his best efforts, Michael receives devastating news when the Education Authority announces that Waterloo Road has not improved its standards and will therefore be closed. Luckily, a former pupil and friend of Michael's, Lorraine Donnogan proposes a solution. She offers him the opportunity to be head teacher at a new independent school she is opening in Scotland. At first, Michael declines, but changes his mind after the Education Authority's decision. The series ends with Michael moving to his new post, though he does not go alone. Joining him are: Sian, Tom, Grantly, Maggie, Chalky, Scout, Phoenix, Denzil, Harley and Tariq. His reasons for wanting to start the new school are somewhat altruistic. He realises that for certain pupils, the decision to close Waterloo Road might destroy all of the good work that various pupils have achieved. By giving the students the opportunity to attend a different school, they will be able to continue to flourish."

dotty, IT'S THE TELLY!!
Question Author
We know its the telly but it is a stupid twist
It's only telly (as an ex-teacher I don't mind it too much, but then again, I don't use my brain much lately), no one has to watch it.
yes and we are asked to suspend our belief on many levels as tv viewers but it is not necessary to insult us, not only did they find anew school they found one in waterloo road fgs
"so all their families managed to sell their houses, buy new ones in scotland and all get jobs there too?"

Take a stroll across the threshold of many a remote hotel, B&B or shop in Scotland and you may find the resettling part easier to believe.
it's only tv. we don't need to research it, just criticise it
Then might I suggest you submit your ideas to remedy this terrible travesty to the producers of this feast of fantasy.
Clearly from what you report it could hardly be any worse. You might even get paid! :)
Taggart has put on weight. Be interesting to see how his role develolps!

Im with Dotty on this
i don't watch it lol
Oh No!! Blind faith dashed on the rocks of euphoria. It was ever so. :)
At the start of the next series, Michael is seen coming out of the shower with JR at the old school, and we discover that it was all only a dream.
And Miss Diane joins corrie. What about Benny and Amy Turtle and Meg Richardson, they could join Hollyoaks.
