Well that series on BBC 1 has just ended and I enjoyed it hugely. The BEEB at least got that right ! Anyone else watch it ?

I only saw two episodes Flump but would have enjoyed I think. Some good female characters.

terrific sets and costumes and a good story. I liked the way that there is the big story going on and episode by episode stuff as well.

Bit disappointed with the ending though - does it leave the way open for another series?

Absolutely loved it .I've bought the original book by Zola .
Although the programme was only loosely based on it .

I only recognised a couple of the actors , one being Sarah Lancashire. She is brilliant.

Some of them were in Larkrise to Candleford . Ruby Bentall and Olivia Hallinan .
It was sort of Larkrise does Shopping :))

She was Flump. She could age into another Maggie Smith I think.

Gness, I think you're right about Sarah morphing into Maggie. Two ladies of the stage worth their weight. I didn't get to see Larkrise , might have to ask Santa for that !

Larkrise was brilliant flump .Four series all DVD .Send a note up the chimney :)
Cranford was another good costume drama too.Judi Dench was in that and Eileen Atkins ,another two great dames .

shaney you are correct, in fact more than that, one of the lead male actors was also in Larkrise to Candleford playing Fisher Bloom, which was far superior in every way.
