Oh, by the way to anyone watching Andre Rieu, you might find the next programme, the production of "As you like it" from the Globe worth a look.

Hi,dotty,I believe you're a Country and Western fan.I like it too-I like most types of music-not so keen on some of the stuff they dish up today -can't make out what they're singing half the time. Probably would love it if I were 60+ years younger.lol
I don't think Garth is Country and Western, he's more New Country.
Agree with Bibble .I said the same thing on a recent thread and he always looks as if he's having a bad hair day.

headwreck,is it Andre you don't like or was it the whole concert? One man's meat is another man's poison. One of my friends said," Is he the one with the long hair who jumps about a lot?I can't stand him."

nungate.I've never heard Garth but just thought he was C and W.
There are quite a lot of different types of country music out there Quinie, from new country to blue grass, western swing and of course the perennial, my girl friend left me and my dog has died............
My best beloved has quite a collection of it and I enjoy some of it (sometimes)
The only country music I like is the late great Johnny Cash .
I'm a Union Station fan as to bluegrass.....

Re Andre Rieu, well marketed and presented but it's classical music for the masses, a bit schmaltzy and sugary at times (well most of the time).......he makes a fortune from it so who is going to decry him for it unless he's over-exploiting his orchestras etc
.
Rieu's music can serve as an entry into other fields of classical music for those who have no interest in it or think classical isn't for them. He is a total showman, everyone at his concerts seems to have a good time
>>>Any real music lovers out there??

Er, what's REAL music???

I was brought up on classical music (and I've attended many classical concerts) but I don't regard it as any more 'real' than other forms of music.

But, if by 'real music', you mean beautiful voices performing classical music, here's one of my favourites:
