The Hobbit

I'm booking up tickets to see 'The Hobbit' over Christmas, and have the choice of seeing the 48fps version of the regular 3D version.

If anyone has seen the 48fps version - could they tell me whether it's worth seeing it in that format? Did it add to the film, or did it detract from the film?

Saw The Hobbit om Monday, great movie. Found the first 20 - 30 mins a bit boring but after that brilliant. As regards seeing it in 3D HFR, I read that they "shrink" the screen for this and it looks like a giant TV. We saw it in normal 3D and thoroughly enjoyed it. HTH.

i want to see this having seen all the Lord of the Rings films, but worried that firstly i don't like 3d much, and that there have been reports some people have come out of the cinema seeing it in 48 fps feeling dizzy, sick.

ahhh i was going to go and see it next week. i can't "do" 3d and i don't know what 48fps is

I don't know what 48fps is but I went to see it in 2D and it was excellent!! Lol! :D

see it last sat night, it was my 1st 3d experience, i need to see it again, but in a better seat, i had to sit in the 2nd row, so a strained neck wasn´t my idea of enjoyment jurys out regarding 3d, not totally convinced. plus i hadnt read the book in over 30 years. so it seemed like too much emphasis on 3 scenes. was frodo really only a cameo in the book?
