Was anyone else disappointed with the Christmas shows? I thought they were dire. Such tripe. I was really looking forward to them.

not a fan i am afraid, watched a couple but not all that funny.
Not funny .if you take the near the nuckle language out of it little left
i wasted a minute watching one of the recent shows and found it crass
I was very disappointed in both episodes, too.
I also thought the language was worse than usual, with the 'e' replaced by 'u' in the show's favourite f word.
They seem to think swearing is a form of comedy.

Absolute rubbish!

I watched it and it made me laugh.
Question Author
Yes, the language was bad. Why do that for the Christmas shows?
I had the subtitles on, and although the word seemed to start off as Fecking, it was soon changed to the other. I was quite shocked.

Did you happen to catch The Royle Family? That was crap as well. Bit crude.

Question Author
I managed to miss the Royale family. People tell me it was rubbish as well.
The best thing so far has been Mr. Stink. Still have lots of recorded things to watch.
if there is one show i always miss is the Royal family, i absolutely loathe Ricky Tomlinson. One peek at his filthy t shirt and scruffy face has me reaching for the off switch.
Trust me, you did good to miss it. Utter drivel.

Ah, I missed Mr Stink. May have to see if I can find it on catch up. My highlight was Call The Midwife. I only managed to watch it last night, and it was great.
Oh, quite enjoyed Peep Show, too - although that was just a 'normal' episode, not Christmas.
em, I used to love The Royle Family, but it's gone downhill over the past few years.
Mr Stink was very good, family entertainment. Why can't they put a bit more of that on instead of rehashed films, and smutty so called sit coms
Question Author
I also enjoyed Downton.
It's all about smut and the shock value.

shame that it is really. Downton had rather a shocking ending,
Question Author
Yes, it did but it was not full of swearing and innuendo. The new shop owner was a bit of a cad though wasn't he?
Yes, didn't expect Matthew to die - sad I really liked him
i watched the first one hoping that as it went on it would get better but it didnt, so i didnt bother with the second one
We were disappointed with Mrs Brown too. Had the DVD for Christmas and that was a rip off, just the last series done on stage.
