Thumbing my way from Selby to Leeds in the late '60s, heading for a Troggs concert, was picked up by...............the Troggs. What a great group of lads. Took me into the venue by the artists door and got me a seat right at the front. Brilliant night. RIP Reg Presley.

I met Alan Shearer once, arrogant pain in the Yabbie.
Whats a Yabbie? not what I typed,I'll try "butt" see if that gets censored.!!
I once walked around a street corner smack into the middle of a scene being filmed for Kavanagh QC. John Thaw (all 4'11" of him) was extremely rude to me. I told him to eff off.
Should have given a slap around the kisser with a wet Mackerel mrs o.
No need tony. I looked down on him from my full height (psychological advantage point to me) and before I told him to eff off I did give him a few choice words of, ahem, my advice and wisdom.
I left him standing there with his mouth opening and closing but no sound coming out. Rude man.
I met Peter Armitage (Bill Webster Coronation St) in Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales. We had a bizarre conversation about the quality of butchers in the area.
Zacs, where abouts in the Dales did you meat him?

(I'll get my coat now)
Hawes.......pronounced......
Hey stop horsing around mrs overthetop.
You were rude to the lovely John Thaw! You're off my Xmas list
Sibs, there was nothing lovely about him!

I once got a "lock in" in a pub on the outskirts of Leeds. One of the other customers looked vaguely familiar. It was only when he picked up a guitar and started to sing did I realise it was Mark Knoffler
Which pub was that Mrs O?
Met the Waterboys one night.
Really nice lads.
I nearly ran over David Mach yesterday. I didn't meet him but I just thought i'd share lol!
Zaks, I haven't a clue as I was extremely drunk and it was over 20 years ago. It was somewhere in the Holbeck area - the landlord was a mate of his
I know he's not a celebrity but I shook hands with Jack Straw when he was the Home Secretary many years ago. He came to where I worked and was being shown around. I could see him comeing towards me with a group of people and I was having an argument with an asylum seeker I was interviewing about the fact that I could not give him permission to work. He left seconds before JS came to my desk!
For some inexplicable reason I had a crush on Michael Elphick...must have been the motorbike.
On the way to Nottingham for a day out I knocked out my front tooth. Wandering around Nottingham with my mouth tightly closed for once I turned a corner and bumped.......bumped very hard...into Mr Elphick.
He picked me up and was charming.....really charming to this idiot who nodded and made squeaking noises through pursed lips.
Try saying...Please can I have your autograph....without opening your mouth.
I met Tom Jones once I think he was impressed.Thats not unusual as most people are when they meet the weecalf
Many, many years ago I met Adam Faith. He was lovely, but I was struck dumb with awe!! I was only a kid at the time.
I was in a lift with mike Tyson in Vegas. We both just stared at the doors and didn't say a word. I got the feeling he was a bit intimidated. ;-)
