there you go...
To be honest, I haven't seen any other film version.

Thanks again ,em.
i have seen tv versions, and other films, but i still think his is the best version. The book is far more dark than most classic stories, he is a heartless bstard to all except Cathy, it is one of my favourite stories...
Question Author
I understand that a biracial actor plays heathcliffe I the most recent version which is quite an interesting twist
there have been any number of indepth interpretations of Heathcliffe, gypsy, dark skinned, and indeed mixed race, so having an actor of mixed race to play him wouldn't be unthinkable..
then of course you had cliff richards, the mind as they say boggles..
And don't forget screechy Kate Bush!. That was dire.
Nobody going to mention Heathcliff starring Cliff Richard?
The old versions are always the best

I started to watch the film with the biracial Heathcliffe, and turned off about quarter of Ann hour later, because it was awful! Nothing like the book at all. I really enjoyed the book and must try to see the Laurence Olivier version sometime. Have the BBC ever done a series of WH?
