yes, it was unnerving but will watch again. Gillian Anderson yet another police officer with "issues". Would she really have been so brazen in her approach to the copper on duty?
It was dark and atmospheric and chilling but I thought it was good and looking forward to the next episode the portrayal of family life was natural. It was a bit slow going but that was to get everything in and introduce us to the characters.
Without knowing what it was about my wife said do you want to watch and I said not if its just another murder story. Why is virtually all drama on tv about gruesome murder, torture, grim life in the Victorian era, upper class toffs in the Vitorian era, etc etc. In reaity this one was to give the Beebs NI unit something to do (Oh and the token American for the US market). Come on lets have a laugh for a change.
Very unnerving indeed. Made a chilling point that even the most "normal" person can have a very black side. I too felt very uncomfortable watching it but hopefully the rest of the series will be mainly devoted to solving the crime and the dynamics of the police officers involved.
I watched it last week. Thought it was very good. It was supposed to leave you feeling uncomfortable! (Serial) murders are not supposed to be comfortable
