it is bad enough that sky have pinched the formula 1 off the bbc, and we have to make do with only a highlights programme

so instead of having waffling and other bits and pieces eating up the limited air time - why not just give us as much of the race as possible?

I wwould ordinarily agree, but Monaco is such a boring race, although this year there have been a couple of take-notice bits!

It's because they're only allowed to show a specific number of minutes of the race. Sorry, I don't know exactly how many, but it's a definite number. Let's say it's 45, they can then add as much waffle as they like, but cannot go over the 45. And there will be people checking in the hope of being able to penalise the beeb for going beyond their contract.
