Talking of Joan of Arc they are reputed to be George Bernard Shaw's last words. On his deathbed and not having moved for some time, those gathered round him wondered how they could tell if he were dead. One person suggested feeling his feet as they are the first thing to get cold when one dies. GBS said, in a weak voice "What about Joan of Arc?" then died. He obviously didn't know she died in a bath!
