Just watched this on BBC 2. Puerile, predictable, over-acted rubbish. Feeble jokes about snot and farting, racist stereotypes. How does tripe like this get transmitted on a supposedly prestigious channel?
The Castle - regurgitated and outdated jokes about TOWIE and Amy Childs (zzz) and My First Planet - who on earth convinced Nicholas Lyndhurst to do that?
I like the Now Show alot, and Just a Minute (unless Giles Brandreth is on)
totally agree andy. I like the News Quiz, Just a minute and sorry I haven't a clue and that's about it for Radio 4. Their afternoon plays make up for it though
Well, as you can see from my avatar, i'm a fan. I love the radio shows, it's an escape to a daft bit of fun. It will take time to find it's feet on tv. I find it funny as it reminds me of people I know, or even myself at times. Shame some don't like it but hey, there ye go.
There is only room for one character actor playing someone a lot older than he is, and creating a sublimely funny persona that lasts for years - and this is not it!
Step forward Graham Fallows and the immortal John Shuttleworth!!!
Oh dear! Just watching episode 2. It is ruined by canned laughter, omitted from the radio series. We don't need to be told what is meant to be funny; like Hancock of years ago, the humour is in the character, not in any supposedly funny lines. A disaster, and a shame considering what the producers and writers have.
