Yes. He certainly attracted some gorgeous women
Yes I saw a good bit of it. I'm not really a Rod Stewart fan but it was interesting and he is plainly a man of many talents (as well as ex-partners and children :-) )
It's Stewart, by the way. I particularly enjoyed the clips from the 60s.
Just a shame that most of his sucess was covering other people's songs.
Yes, loved it.
who is Rod Stuart?
Really? You couldn't figure out who Ellie meant because of the misspelling of his name?

I stand corrected on mis-spelling of surname. I know he had a roving eye but I was impressed by his honesty and his loyalty to family. He was extremely interesting.

Yes, I do believe piggynose was being sarcastic.
i had to ask before i read the thread, as i couldn't see how anyone could make this mistake.
It's a bit of a misconception that Rod Stewart mainly covered other people's songs. Many of his most famous hits were written by ... Rod Stewart. In fact the programme mentioned this.
Love the guy....sexy, fun and doesn't take himself too seriously. Strange how people think he only covers other peoples songs when he has written so many...as it said in the documentary...x

So you asked BEFORE you read the thread, piggy. Sorry we're not all as perfect as you. Does your name reflect your personality?
I watched it and thought it a brilliant.
The more i see of him the more i really like him. I love his cheeky charactor.

I agree totally, gness. He's so attractive in every way. He co-wrote Maggie May which is one of the all time greats.
I have never been a fan of his but I watched a show of his a while back where he was singing "oldies" from his American Songbook recording...fantastic...he has a great voice...and so..I am now a fan.

That's the amazing thing about Rod Stewart. He almost literally had to reinvent himself when he lost his voice through cancer surgery. And - as the documentary pointed out - his "new voice" turned out to have a greater vocal range than his old one, allowing him to do covers of those old songs.

One criticism I'd have of the programme (tho' I must admit I missed some of it at the beginning) is that it tended to gloss over the bad bits of his career, but what we did get was still excellent.
A year or two ago, we walked around the parimeter of his house in Epping.
We saw his big football pitch and house and touched his main gates at the entrance too! Just to say that we've been there.
He lives quite hidden away and it was great to have found his house.
Shame he was in America at the time as we could have bumped into him on our walks. Off out now for a long walk.

Thank you for that gness.
