On holiday I expect. According to the schedule he's on this week.
A pity he's only on holiday, I hoped he had left the BBC.
lol, I only listen when I accidentally catch the button with my duster.
Me too vulcan!
Imo BBC2 daytime radio has become dire. Jeremy Vine who loves the sound of his own voice and never stops talking, hosts a programme which is becoming more and more puerile. It solves nothing and just occasionally when there is something interesting being discussed, they have to stop for music. Steve wright isn't any better, what with his "singing",impersonations and asking the listeners to wave to him. I would suggest he should be on around five o'clock for the children but that would be insulting their intelligence. My radio goes off at 12 noon.
And Who is he ?
I do like his progs but he seems to be 'off air' a hell of a lot lately and I can't stand 'stand-ins'.
I get narked by the fact he thinks it is 'the big show', well I have news for him- it isn't!!
Isn't it called 'the big show' because it is on for more hours each week than any other Radio 2 programme?

I very much enjoy the Jeremy Vine show and in my opinion he does let his guests and callers speak. Very difficult format to handle and he does it very well.

Steve Wright in the afternoon I can take or leave - I don't put the radio on specifically to listen to the show but don't turn it off just because it comes on. His Sunday Love Songs is okay for a Sunday morning but again I wouldn't put it on specifically. On the whole I think he is top class radio presenter - it can't be easy filling in 15 hours Monday to Friday.

Not sure if it is the longest show, I think Chris Evans does 3 hours a day too, I just think he goes on about it a bit too much, nothing personal, he's not as bad as some.
I listened for about half-an-hour today, and he played three songs consecutively that I didn't know and only back-announced one.

If he is going to play new music, why not spend less time trying to immitate the vocalist for the last fifteen seconds, and spend the time telling listeners what the perishing song is called!!!!!
