Tonight is the start of a very sad long drawn out story, I'm sure of it :(

So Hayley's for the chop? That'll be twice now

Yup, she's a goner.
Yes Ann I agree, started blubbing at the end already!
What happened? Rare I watch.
I read it was cancer of the pancreas. My FIL died of this but it took 2 years not a few months. He was ill when he first went to see the Doc. Haley's was picked up on a routine blood test. So no sign of her feeling ill yet.

It reminds me of how quick they killed off Alma.
I hate these kind of stories. I wish they had let her run off with Norris or somebody.
She's contracted soapitis. Characterised by chronic bad acting coupled to an unbelievable storyline. There's no cure I'm afraid.

Yes, I am just dreading it - poor old Roy, bless him, how will he cope?
(PS - know it's only a soap! LOL)
He'll probably team up with Scary Mary.
Yes, but it's so depressing. Could they not have come up with a more cheerful exit.

I agree Ellie - no need to kill her off, they could have thought of something less traumatic for us viewers. I dread to think of the reaction from viewers who actually are suffering from pancreatic cancer - how depressing for them.
But not depressing for some who may see the symptoms and seek early treatment.
To do that Ellie, Roy would have had to leave too.
I watch soaps as a light relief ,not to be educated on medical issues.
Question Author
But Zacs - she had absolutely no symptoms at all, that is the scary part - it was picked up just through a routine blood test (gulp!)
Oh right. Still might encourage others to get a check up.
I agree ellie, a lot of us are touched by real life cancer issues, it's certainly not what I want to watch on telly.
As I said on an earlier thread, I don't mind gruesome murders, deaths in explosions, train crashes, on by plunging cars in canals. But this is different and not what I want of Corrie. Agree with Ellie May. I might even cease to watch it for a while. I don't need to feel depressed.
But terrible things do happen in real life so it might make some people think about similar symptoms they might have, I don't suppose the writers do these things lightly.
She had no symptoms!!
Question Author
I tend to agree Lottie, I felt like that tonight, got really depressed as the doctor was telling her - o dear, what will it be like as she is actually dying? Maybe we should wish for another major catastrophe to hit the street and put Hayley (and us!) out of her misery.
