Am i the only one who wouldn't accept any food he was serving unless he covered up his mustache with a mustache cover much like some of the chefs with beards have to?
I find it rather off putting and him huffing and puffing away a cooking pot with no protection and in my day it was clean shaven or off to the dole queue!

I think it's repulsive. Can't see it being hygienic
just the sight of him turns my stomach, it is disgusting . imagine all the germs hidden in it YUK YUK
does he snuffle the food with it before serving?
If he's in a kitchen, then I suppose it should be covered up, but if he's cooking on his boat or at the side of the water, then I don't have a problem with it.

I'm sorry but kitchen H&S hygiene is valid on boats, by water and even far out at sea when you're cooking for others. Would you be okay if he did a no 2 then came out and didn't wash his hands before touching cutlery and preparing food for his guests? What if his guests were your friends or family, would you still be okay with it? Would you be happy if he made your food then you found several large hairs in your food or mouth?
Big mustaches and beards are unhygienic FACT and you're required to keep them covered up with a beard net or other covering when prepping and serving food to the public. My guess is that the show guests must have to sign a legal waiver before appearing.
I thought I saw a hair in something today, but given the stuff they eat, I wouldn't anyway.
I agree with Gina I'm afraid, I find long whiskers revolting, my ex boss always had bits in his.
I had to stop using one local butcher cos I saw his hands and arms had a really bad case of psoriasis, I know it's silly.
Another turn off is the celebs on Masterchef dripping sweat all over the food.

I think one of the worst ones I've seen is on Come Dine With Me, big fat bloke sweating buckets wiped his forehead with a tea towel and then used it to wipe the plates before serving.

Fluuuuuuuuurch!
I thought that today, Kramer - he must filter his food through it, it's gross. Get it trimmed, man!
I have always thought it looks awful, and I would not eat anything this man had touched.
Couldn't agree more Kramer and that Denise one on Masterchef last night kept scratching her hair between serving/plating up in the restaurant - GROSS!!
he must spend many an hour on his own under the mistletoe at Christmas
I see absolutely nothing wrong with Dick Strawbridge's "soup strainer" tash. My late grandfather, affectionately known as "Six Pint Charlie", had a similar one and although his soubriquet was well deserved he never wasted a drop of his evening beverages as he had the knack of sucking the whole of his moustache into his mouth and chewing it so that he wrung every last drop out before spectacularly blowing his tash back into place. Hygenic? Nah! Entertaining? Absolutely!
Fair enough Michael, but if he was not your loving grandad, but a stranger who had cooked a meal and expected you to pay for it, would you feel the same way?
I find it very odd. I sometimes wonder if he's got a deformed lip or something that he wants to hide.
I think its revolting!
As none of us are ever likely to be served food by him, personally, I cannot see what all the fuss is about.
