It's actually better than I thought it might be from the trailers. They seem to have a good cast though I'm not sure it's showing through though, yet anyway but I guess it's just starting everything up.
I am liking Jason though, which helps :)

Carolegif, on second thoughts I'm with you. I had the Illiad stuffed down my throat (in Latin) many years ago. I still agonise over whether I think Achilles or Hector was the braver. At the moment I am favouring Hector. Nothing to do with that crap film "Troy" mind, the errors in that are beyond belief.
Now, the Mosaic household being what it is, I watched this on mute whilst holding serious conversations and showing DD how to manipulate her new facebook profile, so obviously I didn't catch any of the dialogue.
But - as I kept reminding those present - whoever had done it knew their archaeology as there was excellent and chronologically (mostly) correct use of artefacts, clothing and buildings, with a twist for entertainment and imagination.
I have similar mental episodes when watching Arnie in Conan the Barbarian. So very La Tene Iron Age!
