I've just, by the way, seen The Descent. Very scary.
i love horror/thriller films and they usually don't have an effect on me, but...
I watched Creep recently and although the film itself didn't scare me at the time I was a bit tingly when I used the tube in London the next day when i stood near the barrier at the end of the platform.
I think when i usually watch horror films, they take place somewhere unfamiliar to me. But because this one was set on the London Underground, and because I use it every day, it just kept me thinking over scenes in the film. Brilliant!
Dont Look Now by Nicholas Roeg. Its not a hide behind a cushion sort of horror, however, the idea of possessing second sight without knowing it really messed with my head. The two elderly sisters also freaked me out but at least got a bit of comic light relief with the ending (dont think it was Roegs intention though but would love to know what it was, this could almost be another question!)
Like some of you, I forbid myself to watch most horror/thriller films because I know it will have an effect on me..(i.e. unable to sleep, scared alone in my house, etc..) I have always had too big of an imagination to seperate movie from real life!
However, I did watch The Sixth Sense, and it still scares me sometimes when I suddenly feel a cold draft, or my dog is barking at nothing (or something I can't see), or when I'm alone and suddenly just feel as if someone is around me...YIKES!
