On Is it Something I Said. The most annoying man ever on my tv, after Jimmy Carr and Alan Carr and a few others.

After a career in comedy, Ade confesses that he now finds the concept of trying to make people laugh, essentially by bombarding them with 'humour' to be quite unappealing, and given the approach of most modern commedians, Iam inclined to agree with him.
i am perfectly happy to concede that this may be a 'generation' thing - we are both in our late fifties, and it is perfectly possible that modern humour is simply not designed for us, in the same way that 'alternative' comedy served as a kick against the dinner-suited racisist chauvenists who populated clubs and tv in the 1970's.

I saw Mickey Flanagan live and he was brilliant. The dad's advice to his son on dating was hilarious. Personally, I can't stand Russell Brand, Sarah Millican (we've heard enough about your ninny!), or Paul Foot. Is It Something I Said is ok, but not as good as QI or 8 out of 10 Cats. Sean Lock and John Richardson also favourites of mine.
