Anyone just finished watching this? Was he smiling so much at the station because she ended up with a different bloke or have I got it wrong?

Smiling because he could see she was so happy I thought, Prudie.

It's just the man who was with her I'm sure was not Sean Maguire who played her fiance.
No...new man and do you blame her!
Question Author
OK thanks and no I don't, he was wet for starters.
And so controlling....still...he lost his deposits!....☺☺
It was a 'Happy families' ending for him, all lovey-dovey around the kitchen table, but she seemed to have the worst deal; an illegitimate child with an absent, weird father, no contact with the man she really loved, and a relationship with, well, - whom?
He got off very lightly I think, no wonder he was smiling.
Well written (except for the ending), I would have preferred to see the child as his, and watch what then transpired.
is it worth watching on catch-up ?
No Anne I don't think so. In my mind it was slow, then got boring and happy endings after so much hurt don't happen in real life. Just my opinion though.
sometimes, there are happy endings :)
Awh, it's just telly.
It is just telly indeed, but superb telly for a change. Well written, beautifully acted and contemporary.

I think he was smiling because she had indeed found her Mr. Right, who was neither him nor the fiancé.
Ah, but was it her new man? Would you look to see who shouted your wifes/girlfriends name in the street as she did, but he didnt.
I think it was a stranger just helping her with the buggy.

I think it's probably worth watching, great performances and anything with David Morrissey in is always good, I've always found him mesmerising. It is rather genteel, you'll be disappointed if you want explicit sex and swearing.
As she was having sex with both men during the same period of time without precaution, she couldn't really know who was the father (could she?) She even said "in 5 years time, if it looks like you ...."
We need to know!
Also ladies, something I have often pondered, I've never kissed a man, but that beard looked awfully bristly, wouldn't it be a more pleasurable experience if he was clean-shaven?
Question Author
Yes I thought the baby was going to be his. The beard thing is a matter of taste but personally I like clean shaven (not to mention the rash inducing properties!) plus in David Morrisey's case it would take years off him. Even my idol Jeremy Paxman has lost it now he has that old grey fuzz on his face.
It was all slowed down at the end but I thought Sally just happened to catch sight of Carl rather than reacting to her name...the man was too attentive to be a stranger I thought, the first thing he did was touch the baby and you wouldn't expect or want a stranger to do that. (He could have been a relative/work colleague of course)
Re the beard - you get used to it. :)
I hoped the baby was anyone's but the boyfriend's... lord if it grows up like him!....☺☺

Sally and Carl mentioned they'd always been careful during their affair...but things do go wrong.
Question Author
Does anyone remember Sean Maguire (the fiance) in Eastenders years back, played a young footballer I think, he was so pretty then.
Yes I remember him Prudie and quite liked him...he had a go at singing too didn't he?
