45 minutes in,and it bears no resemblance to the book....the beginning is totally different. Don't think I am going to bother watching after all.

Why can't they make a version true to the original?

Didn't appeal at all, we're watching the History of the Internet.
I watched a bit of it. I'm not bothering again either.
Mr Selfridge for me although it doesn't seem as good as last year's series.
This is the version I grew up with.

You can almost hear Alexandre Dumas spinning in his grave...
Recorded it to watch tomorrow...delete?
I'm watching The Full Monty, much better!

gness...if you read the book, you'll hate it....

....but there is plenty of eye candy...;-)
Bums....what a quandary, Pasta.....Hate it but enjoy the eye candy???..... I know....I'll toss a coin....☺
Personally I rather enjoyed it, a good bit of escapism.
hmm, as it was on after 9 i assumed there would be more sex in it. Most disappointed.
I didn't watch it but the trailers suggested that it wasn't going to be the sort of simple adaption that would, in previous years, have been shown at teatime on a Sunday.
Where's The Full Monty--which channel?
According to this article, the producers deliberately set out to make it different to the original story.

I enjoyed Mr Selfridge.. I think it might hot up as the series goes one.
Not seen it yet but what a shame it's got a negative response from all on here
We could have had eye candy and an accurate interpretation of the Dumas Classic
Will they ever learn
I suspect they thought the original might have already been done.
one for all and all for one, muskethounds are always ready, sigh....

Which channel was that boxtops, wouldn't mind watching that?
I enjoyed it too anagram. It was based on the characters in the bokk not the story. Good looking blokes in leather, swording fighting - works for me!!!
I enjoyed it a lot - although i have rather simple tastes. - have to admit i have not read the book (but this is on my list to read), but it was an easy watching programme on a Sunday night, something that doesn't require too much thinking about on the night before a return to work.
And just cause it was after nine, doesn't automatically mean that there should be more violence or sex does it, i quite liked the fact that it wasn't too sexy.
