... Why is it necessary to register and create an ITV Account just to watch an episode of 'Mr Selfridge' or any other programme for that matter. This is a new procedure isn't it?.....BBC don't do it

BBC don't do adverts either. ITV is a commercial channel and it doesn't 'have' to do anything at all but I guess that they think they have something to gain by forcing users to login to access their services, as for exactly what that something is I should highly suspect it has to do with advertising somewhere along the line. Same as just about everything else you login to, like Answerbank.

Yes! a bit of a pain isn't it I wanted to watch an incident from the TV awards and had go through all that palaver and still didn't see what I wanted!
