In terms of botox, MH does look rather smooth and strained simultaneously, which is often an indicantion of some ... ah ... assistance shall we say in defying the ageing process.
As to why he should be on the QT panel - it would be boring indeed if only MP's and their lordships were panellists. It is necessary to broaden the appeal to draw in viewers who may not otherwise watch the programme, and that is usually the purpose of inviting people who are known in other areas that politics.
It is easy indeed - and the Mirror critic took full advantage - to sneer at multi-millionaire musicians, as if an injection of eight figures into the bank coincides instantly with a lively and enquiring mind turning to mush and isolation.
The two do not equate - and if they do, Cameron is in serious trouble for one!
I think it is interesting and valid to hear the views of people who have enjoyed a political voice, and no doubt still do have opinions.
To assume that a rich man has no opinion on being poor is as facile as assuming that a poor man has no opinion on being rich - it is not necessary to experience every aspect of life in order to be able to think, hold opinions, and debate about them.
Didn't see the programme, so can't comment directly, but I have interviewed MH, and he is an intelligent and informed individual
