So glad I asked if anyone else could hear the actors in Jamaica Inn, I've been thinking I needed my hearing tested, and that others said 'Brokeback Mountain' was bad,I had looked forward to that film then didn't know half of what they said. I can stop worrying now!
BBC controller or somebody similar on news today trying to justify it saying the needed good speaking actors but had to admit to a fault had 100s of complaints if its not Mumbly TV it's loud background music and there isn't always subtitles, TV getting to be uncomfortable viewing, time these producers etc sat down and watched what they expect the viewers to...
I`ve got Brokeback Mountain on DVD and I lasted about 5 minutes trying to listen to it. I`m glad it wasn`t just me. They could mumble for Africa. As far as Jamaica Inn is concerned, I haven`t watched it because I come from the SW and I`ve never heard an actor who can get the accent right which irritates the hell out of me.
On our regional news programme (Spotlight South West) last night it got quite a lot of coverage. Even interviewed who were at Jamaica Inn watching Jamaica Inn. I have recorded it so not watched it yet. But on the news bulletin it did say that the sound had been tweeted for the last two episodes.

I didn't attempt to watch it, the trailers looked uninteresting and I had a feeling it would be very slow and long drawn out. I would rather buy an old black and white DVD version on ebay and watch that. And that would be a lot shorter to watch.
i thought Brokeback mountain was one of the biggest waste of 2 hours of my life, dull, boring,
i did watch some of Jamaica Inn, pretty dire to be honest - not just the dodgy accents
