So glad I asked if anyone else could hear the actors in Jamaica Inn, I've been thinking I needed my hearing tested, and that others said 'Brokeback Mountain' was bad,I had looked forward to that film then didn't know half of what they said. I can stop worrying now!

I`ve got Brokeback Mountain on DVD and I lasted about 5 minutes trying to listen to it. I`m glad it wasn`t just me. They could mumble for Africa. As far as Jamaica Inn is concerned, I haven`t watched it because I come from the SW and I`ve never heard an actor who can get the accent right which irritates the hell out of me.
Grumbling about the mumbling?
I put the sub-titles on. I thought it was something to do with the West country accent, it does sound a bit strange for someone from Yorkshire:-)
Good idea carrust as nearly gave up when I couldn't work out whether Mary Yellan was being praised or threatened after the Magistrate's visit.
On our regional news programme (Spotlight South West) last night it got quite a lot of coverage. Even interviewed who were at Jamaica Inn watching Jamaica Inn. I have recorded it so not watched it yet. But on the news bulletin it did say that the sound had been tweeted for the last two episodes.

I'm glad I didn't attempt to watch it - judging by what I saw on the news, I'd have thought I was going blind as well as deaf. Was it all that dark?
I didn't attempt to watch it, the trailers looked uninteresting and I had a feeling it would be very slow and long drawn out. I would rather buy an old black and white DVD version on ebay and watch that. And that would be a lot shorter to watch.
i thought Brokeback mountain was one of the biggest waste of 2 hours of my life, dull, boring,
i did watch some of Jamaica Inn, pretty dire to be honest - not just the dodgy accents
