After seeing all the complaints about very poor & inaudible sound does anyone know if the Beeb intend to launch a corrected version so that we can get some idea of the plot ?

Read the Wikipaedia entry. I think the producers followed it when making the programme!

We gave up after the first one, I know some people put subtitles on but you shouldn't have to do that. In any case my OH is blind and if I sat reading the whole thing out from subtitles Id not really be watching it myself. Might as well just get the audiobook. I have no real idea of the plot either but after trying to make sense of episode one I'm past caring now.

Read the book Ron-do not bother with the Hitchcock version as it left important characters out,invented others,and is (unintentionally I presume) hilariously bad. Alternatively-watch the BBC adaptation with sub titles on-the furore over the adaptation is not wholly deserved.
